Selected projects 2010/2015
In 2012, the year that marked its 10th anniversary, the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bozen Bolzano launched the first edition of Unibz Design Festival. Curated by Giorgio Camuffo and Maddalena Dalla Mura it focused on the topic of “Learning” and developed into a three-day event, including workshops and a final conference.
In 2014, for the second edition of the Festival, the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bozen Bolzano launched a new project! The temporary platform “Centre Periphery” was an opportunity for design students from Bozen Bolzano and other schools (national and abroad) to meet, discuss and produce artefacts within a 4-days long workshop. The daily work activities during “Centre Periphery” were accompanied by public discussions and a series of main talks in the evenings around the theme that gives the title to the project. “Centre Periphery” offered the opportunity to be part of a varied debate together with internationally renowned invited guests and the teachers of the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bozen Bolzano.
Coherently with the interdisciplinary approach of our Faculty, signs, objects and space were variously intertwined in the production of two- and three-dimensional outputs joined to innovative spatial interventions.
Centre Periphery was organized by Roberto Gigliotti, Jonathan Pierini and Simone Simonelli.
Invited guests: Gruppe, Roosje Klap, Thomas Vaily, Zak Kyes.
Thanks to: Sabrina Vegetti and Elisa Spigai who worked on the graphic design and to the many students who made this event possible.
